Modern Languages and Literatures

Olivier Lebleu Concert

Olivier Lebleu, author, translator, educator and performer, gave a “lecture-concert” in Calvin Durand Hall on Thursday, Oct. 25, hosted by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures and organized by Professor of French Cynthia Hahn. The event, titled “Pardon My French!” featured a discussion and performance of 10 French and American song adaptations, and was attended by more than 75 guests. Lebleu was accompanied by the Lake Forest College Chamber Choir (some students featured in photo) as prepared by Assistant Professor of Music, Annie Barry, and the College’s faculty band, Fast and Cheap. The event can also be accessed here: www.lakeforest.edu/video. Olivier also spoke in French classes on musical adaptation, translation and journalism.
