ACTIVATE student to perform improv show at The Second City

Lecturer in theater John Hildreth invited Hamid Masood ’19 to perform with his improv team on The Second City’s famously funny stage.

Masood is a political science major with a focus in global politics, but has always had a passion for performing. “Having acted in shows throughout high school and a couple shows at Lake Forest College, this opportunity to work with Second City and my improv professor is an absolute dream of mine,” Masood said. “Keegan-Michael Key, Tina Fey, Steve Carrell—all my comedic heroes stood on that stage, and now it’s my time to show what I’ve got.”

Other students participating in the College’s summer ACTIVATE program in downtown Chicago will be attending to support Masood’s debut at The Second City in the show Jam Sandwich.

Masood’s performance will take place on Thursday, June 14 at 10:30 p.m. He will be performing alongside Hildreth’s team members on the third floor of the de Maat Studio Theatre, located at 230 W. North Avenue, Chicago, IL 60610.
