Elizabeth Snider ’10 recognized at Leadership Awards ceremony
Assistant Director of Gates Center Elizabeth Snider ’10 was awarded the “Commitment to Student Development Award” at the 2018 Leadership Awards Ceremony in Calvin Durand, April 30.
Snider majored in sociology and anthropology at Lake Forest College. Later, she earned her master of science in education from Northern Illinois University. Prior to her role as assistant director, she served as the Program Coordinator of Collegiate Chapter Services at Alpha Phi International Fraternity in Evanston, Illinois.
The Commitment to Student Development Award recognizes an outstanding faculty or staff member who has fostered an environment of student development throughout the academic year. Recipients of this award challenge students to step outside their comfort zone and learn about themselves and the Lake Forest College community through knowledge and understanding. As the recipient of this award, Snider also set clear and ambitious standards for students.
At the Gates Center, Snider’s primary job responsibilities include advising the College’s fraternity and sorority community, serving as a liaison to Student Government’s Clubs and Organizations committee, and providing programming and training support for all student organizations. She oversees the Athletic Orientation Program for firs- year fall athletes and provides programming support for New Student Orientation, student Homecoming programs, and the Forester Day of Service.
