Dr. Evelyne Accad’s visit

Dr. Evelyne Accad, Lebanese author, activist, composer and professor emerita of the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) visited Prof. Cynthia Hahn’s French classes this April, to discuss her novels regarding the condition of women in the Middle East and North Africa.

Dr. Evelyne Accad, Lebanese author, activist, composer and professor emerita of the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) visited Prof. Cynthia Hahn’s French 212, 330 and 460 classes this April, to discuss her novels and short stories regarding the condition of women in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and the U.S. Accad related her challenges in supporting a shelter for abused women with her sister in Beirut, Lebanon, and also spoke about the current Syrian refugee situation there and her family’s involvement in providing humanitarian aid and education to refugee children living in the capital.
