Letter from the President

A message from Stephen D. Schutt, President

Dear Loyalty Circle Members,

ACCESS | The Campaign for Lake Forest College continues to move steadily toward our $125 million goal. I’m pleased to announce that $110 million in gift commitments are now in hand. Because of you, we are able to look to the future with confidence.

Within this issue, please take a moment to learn more about Davis Schneiderman, PhD. He has done outstanding work as Associate Dean for Strategy and Innovation, and he will become the College’s Interim Dean of the Faculty this summer. Under his leadership, the College is planning steps to broaden the number of academic programs available to our traditional four-year Lake Forest College students, as well as increase the number of highly qualified transfer students we recruit from area community colleges. The number of programs available to students during the summer continues to expand as well, both on campus and at our beautiful facility located in downtown Chicago.

Loyalty Circle members and other campaign donors make it possible for every Lake Forest College student to have direct access to faculty and advisors, impressive internships, and a powerful network of alumni and friends who hire or help our graduates begin their careers.

By helping us live our mission, you also inspire grateful students and our youngest alumni. You may be surprised to learn that the participation of young alumni who regularly support the College has more than doubled during the last five years. In this issue you will hear from Davis DeKorte, Sydney Gardner, and Kyra Vidas, who have made a five-year pledge to support the College as members of the Class of 2018. I’m thrilled to tell you that more than 70% of their classmates have already committed to join them.

Thank you for continuing to make Lake Forest College one of your top philanthropic priorities. Your support inspires our faculty, staff, and students every day.

Stephen D. Schutt

P.S. It isn’t too early to mark your calendars for Homecoming 2018, including the grand opening of the new Lillard Science Center the evening of Friday, October 12.
