Make connections at Speed Networking

Tracy Koenn ’18 got a great internship at Chicago Shakespeare Theater on Navy Pier after making a connection at Speed Networking last year and has already signed up for this year’s event on October 26.

During her summer internship, Koenn, an English literature and politics double major, worked in the theater’s education department alongside the staff.

“The experience taught me a lot about multitasking, prioritizing, working with others, office etiquette, and how to work as a team,” the Dexter High School (Michigan) graduate said.

Building on last year’s connections, Koenn said: “I’m going back to search for potential job or internship opportunities, and I’m also hoping it helps my networking and interviewing skills, in general, since I’ll be talking professionally with plenty of different people.”

During Speed Networking, students are matched with professionals in their areas of interest for a series of five-minute meetings.

Speed Networking is a great way for students to:
  • Meet with professionals in their career field of interest
  • Build their professional network
  • Practice essential networking skills
  • Learn more about available internship and full-time job opportunities

*If you have attended Speed Networking before, you do not have to attend another Prep Session. Instead, complete this short activity by Thursday, October 19 to be eligible to participate.

Students new to Speed Networking must first complete a Prep Session in order to participate. Choose from the following Prep Sessions:
