Orientation 2017 gets students ready for a great year at the College
Lake Forest College places a high value on welcoming students to the College community. Connecting students with each other and to the College while providing them with the resources they need to transition to campus life, is a priority of our orientation program.
New Student Orientation offered a host of events to do just that. Events such as Move-in, Resident Life Staff Meet and Greets, the Forester Fest Picnic, Fraternity and Sorority Open Houses, the President’s Welcome Dinner, the Parent Welcome Reception, and Playfair at the Sports and Recreation Center helped each student learn about the campus and meet other students and college staff.
Information sessions about health and wellness, community standards, academic and career resources, public safety and campus tours were also held during the event. Orientation events such as the Break-the-Ice Cream Social, Block Party, Beach Bash, Chicago Day, and Matriculation helped students to break the ice, cut loose a bit and become a part of the fiber of the College. Service was also a part of the events as the group participated in a Feed My Starving Children service trip.
