New Stop Sign Locations on Middle and South Campus

New stop signs will be located on Middle Campus at the Harlan-Blackstone Gate crosswalk, motorists will be required to observe new stop signs on the roadway curve that intersects with Campus Circle, and new stop signs will go up on South Campus near the Buchanan Hall parking lot entrance.

Greetings all,

Consistent with our ongoing effort and commitment to both minimize risk and promote a safe “pedestrian” campus, I wish to alert you to new stop signs installations occurring this week.

Specifically, new stop signs will be located on Middle Campus at the Harlan-Blackstone Gate crosswalk along with new “No Parking Fire Lane” signs that prohibit parking or standing at any time (for similar safety reasons). Additionally, motorists will be required to observe new stop signs on the roadway curve that intersects with Campus Circle. Lastly, new stop signs will go up on South Campus near the Buchanan Hall parking lot entrance where a sidewalk from the quad also terminates on South Campus Drive.

In addition to the above, we are also beginning a process to improve/upgrade existing parking signs around campus that are much easier to see and, where appropriate, will contain specific restricted/reserved use information. Among the first areas to receive the new signs will be within Campus Circle.

I invite you to contact me at your convenience with any questions or concerns, and I thank you (in advance) for your continued cooperation and vehicle safety compliance.

Thanks, and have a great evening.
