I write today to share updates to the staffing and plans for the Office of Intercultural Relations for the 2017-18 academic year.
Jasmin Robinson, who is starting her fourth year at the College, will serve as the Interim Director in the Office of Intercultural Relations (OIR). In this role, she takes on the leadership and management of all Office of Intercultural Relations functions, programs, services, and staff. Don’t hesitate to contact Jasmin with any OIR related questions or regarding planning for the year ahead.
In early June, we were also happy to welcome Miriam Meza ’13 back to the College as the Assistant Director of Intercultural Programs. Miriam recently completed her Master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education at Northern Illinois University and returns to the College to lead the planning and implementation of OIR programs and events while also serving as liaison to cultural student organizations.
Lastly, the international student advising and F-1 visa support that I previously managed will be shared among a few staff members in the year to come. Yvonne Kaminsky, Department and SEVIS Assistant in the Office of Intercultural Relations, will oversee the day-to-day support necessary for international students including making updates to immigration records and documents. Ashley Sinclair, Director of Off-Campus Programs, will manage employment-related services for international students (i.e. CPT and OPT applications). I will also remain involved with international student advising, as needed.
Please contact me with any questions. Best wishes for a good summer!
