Student Symposium celebrates 20 years!

Tuesday, April 11, 2017 Starting at 9 a.m. in Donnelley and Lee Library
Closing ceremony: 4 p.m. in Durand Art Institute

At 4:15, the Lake Forest College combined choirs (made up of members of the Women’s Choir and Concert Choir with soloists Claire Olson and Michael Lesko) will perform Trilo - Traditional Finnish and Black is the Color - Traditional Scottish, Arr. by Peter Hunt. Following the combined choir, the Inversions, a student a cappella group will perform several selections.

At 4:45, see the unveiling of the winners of “The World in 2050” contest, a competition open to all students to produce responses to the following question—what will the world of the future hold at the half-century mark? Prizes: 1st place: $2,500, 2nd place: $1,500, 3rd place: $1,000. 

The Student Symposium shows off our students’ diverse achievements inside and outside the classroom. Regular classes are canceled on the day of the Symposium so that faculty, staff, and students can participate in the events - members of the North Shore and Lake County communities are welcomed to campus to join us in this celebration of student scholarship and intellectual engagement.
