Scholarship expansion triggers student success

Expanding the merit and need-based scholarship support by $30 million is a top goal of ACCESS: The Campaign for Lake Forest College.

The investment will attract highly qualified students from across the country and around the world regardless of their ability to pay.

The scholarships she received brought Rachel Tenuta ’17 to Lake Forest College, where she has flourished.

An English literature major and print and digital publishing minor, Tenuta has worked with the College’s publishing company and press.

“I’ve worked on five books now and two have only my name on them as the designer,” she said. “Going to an interview and showing the books i designed is huge. I now have an edge entering the job market.”

Philip Johnson ’65 credits the scholarships he received as a Forester with his success. Today, Johnson donates to provide future bright stars with the same opportunity.

“I support Lake Forest College because it helped me financially when I was a student, so I feel an obligation to give back now that I am in a position to do so,” Johnson said.
