Marissa Weber ’15 to play on Red Wings’ alumni team
Former women’s hockey forward Marissa Weber ’15 will be one of only two women tapped to play in an upcoming Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings alumni game.
Weber will play for the Red Wings alumni team while high school hockey player Ally Noles, who happens to be coached by Weber, will play for the Blackhawks alumni team.
“This is an unbelievable opportunity,” Weber said. “I am most excited that I will be on the ice suited up in a Red Wings jersey with some amazing Red Wings alumni.”
Weber will join former Detroit players Darren McCarty, John Ogrodnic, and Dino Ciccarelli on the ice during the game at the Mullett Ice Center in Hartland, Wisconsin on November 5.
Weber racked up 34 goals and 16 assists in 91 games during her career as a forward on the Lake Forest College women’s hockey team, and she is a two-time Slaats Cup champion. After graduating in 2015, Weber began coaching women’s high school hockey and joined the Mullett Hockey League, a men’s recreational league in Hartland.
