Homecoming 2016 Highlights

Homecoming weekend 2016 brought more than 1,200 Forester alumni, families, and friends to campus for what was one of the biggest celebrations in the history of the College.

On Thursday, we welcomed renowned animal welfare advocate and autism activist Temple Grandin to campus for a sold-out lecture.

Friday, the College was joined by alumni and donors to celebrate the launch of ACCESS | The Campaign for Lake Forest College.  At the launch, everyone heard about the exciting plans to invest in core academic, faculty, scholarship, and career development programs, as well as build a new state-of-the-art Science Facility in the coming years.

Saturday we celebrated our Lake Forest College Homecoming parade and lively game-day festival, Fan Fest, where students, alumni, families, and friends gathered together for live music, food, drinks, and entertainment before we took on Ripon College in the Homecoming football game.

We also introduced a new tradition, the Celebration of Faculty breakfast, and held extra special events to honor Spike Gummere, Paula Dau ’58, and Bill martin, Deane Professor of Biochemical and Biological Sciences, Emeritus.

Milestone reunions also took place throughout the weekend for WMXM radio and the classes of 1966, 1968, 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001, 2006, 2011, and 2016, along with special gatherings for our Loyalty Circle members which added to the excitement and drew in alumni from across the country.
