Wired interviewed Syed Karem ’07 about his company’s plan to beam the Web to the estimated 3 billion people who don’t have internet access.
“We want to solve the information access problem as quickly as possible,” the Outernet co-founder and CEO is quoted in Wired.
According to the company website, Outernet began operations in June 2014, turned on its first satellite signal on August 11, 2014, and is now multicasting on six satellites covering 99 percent of humans.
