Artist-in-residence poetry reading Thursday night

Reginald Dwayne Betts, the 2015 artist in residence, will read from his latest book of poetry at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 12, in Meyer Auditorium.

Betts has been visiting classes all week. On Wednesday, WMXM-FM aired a 30-minute interview Associate Professor of English and Chair of the African American Studies Program Judy Dozier conducted with Betts, a teacher, law student, and former inmate who probes the national conscience around issues of race and justice and the dismantling of black men’s lives.
