‘Breakthrough’ exhibit

Showing artwork in the Evanston Art Center’s “Works From Around Our State” exhibit is a significant step for studio art major Medora Sweet ’17.

“This exhibit is the first professional show my work has ever been included in, so it’s Medora Sweet ’17Medora Sweet ’17obviously a significant step…as well as an important breakthrough for my art career,” said Sweet, who is double minoring in digital media design and communication.

Colleges and universities from around Illinois selected two faculty members and two students to represent their school in the exhibition, which runs through Wednesday, November 11.

Chosen to represent Lake Forest College along with Sweet were Kirk Gilbert ’16 of Chicago, Associate Professor of Art Karen Lebergott, and Associate Professor of Art and Chair of Art and Art History Eli Robb

The Evanston Art Center website describes the exhibit as “a unique opportunity to see the collected and varying works of artists from the southern, central and northern part of the state, as well as to come together as a state-wide community in support of the arts.”
