Don’t miss Oppenheimer lecture

Renowned social psychologist Sherry Turkle will discuss how technology has changed the way we relate to one another at this year’s Oppenheimer Lecture on Thursday, October 8.

The MIT media scholar will explore what’s happened to face-to-face conversation in a world where so many people say they would rather text than talk. The lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest at the corner of Sheridan and Deerpath—across the street from North Campus.

“Reclaiming Conversation” is the title of her newest book, to be released two days before her lecture on campus. Copies of Turkle’s books will be for sale at the lecture and she’ll sign copies afterwards. The New York Times published a review of her new book. Click here to read the review.
