Business professor speaks about microfinance to math students
Professor of Economics and Business Les Dlabay spoke to a fifth grade math classes at Prairie Trail School in Wadsworth, providing them with a basic explanation of microloans and the benefits of microfinance programs for poverty alleviation and improved quality of life around the world.
Dlabay teaches about microfinance in the Social Entrepreneurship course (BUSN 360) and the Chicago Global-Local Microfinance course (FIYS 149). In addition, he makes several presentations each year at conferences and in other settings describing the operation and benefits of microfinance for economic development and poverty alleviation.
