New art exhibit all “Lies, Lies, Lies”

Opening this week at the Sonnenschein and Albright Galleries at Lake Forest College, “Spatial Drawings” and “Lies, Lies, Lies”, two exhibits by Canadian installation artist Emily Hermant.

“Spatial Drawings” is comprised of several large-scale sculptures made of inter-connected, hand-bent solid hardwood planks whose curves and twists create “drawings” in three-dimensional space.

“Lies, Lies, Lies” is a multi-modal work of embroidered words illuminated on the walls that create patterns of lies with provocative shadows more visible than the embroideries.
Most recently, Ms. Hermant’s works have been on display at the Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts in Wilmington, DE. Ms. Hermant is Visiting Professor at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
The opening reception will be held on Thursday, September 6 at 7:30 P.M. The exhibits run through October 4.
