Students show support for Wuhan, China
The students of CHIN 260: Intro to Chinese Culture, taught by Assistant Professor of Chinese Ying Wu, practiced their calligraphy skills by creating heartfelt messages of love and support for the people of Wuhan, China impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.
“With the current health concerns in China regarding the coronavirus, our class painted messages saying ’武汉 加油’, which means ‘Wuhan, add oil.’ This common Chinese phrase is used as a way of expressing encouragement and support to people,” Adam Hartzer ’23 said. “This activity, and the course in general, has allowed me to further expand my global understanding of others through a cultural lens as a student at Lake Forest College.”
