Greg Lammers ’21 experiences a new culture through studying abroad

Greg Lammers ’21 learned a lot about the Italian way of life and how it compares to life in the US while living and studying abroad in Rome, Italy last semester through the Global Engagement Office.

“Nearly all of the classes [in Rome] have you go out into the community to learn and explore the city,” Lammers said. “One class gave us a semester-long project where a small group and myself created a short film using Rome as the setting.”

Lammers is just one of many Lake Forest College students who study abroad. Other Foresters study in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Northern Ireland, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, and United Arab Emirates.

“My time abroad has truly opened my eyes in more than one way and has left me wanting to travel to more countries to understand more cultures and how differently people live,” the psychology major said.
