Maddie Strejc ’21 branches out of her major by studying abroad

Maddie Strejc ’21 is living and studying in Athens, Greece this semester through the College’s Global Engagement Office.

A neuroscience and psychology double major and chemistry minor, Strejc is studying at the American College of Greece in Athens.

“Experiencing a country with so much history has been amazing,” Strejc said. “You get to see ruins mixed with a modern city and seeing the Parthenon in person was remarkable.”

Strejc is just one of many Lake Forest College students studying abroad this semester. Other Foresters are studying in China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Northern Ireland, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, and United Arab Emirates.

“Being a neuroscience major I thought going abroad would push me behind, but working with my advisors I was able to stay on track with no road bumps,” she said.
