Sydney Wyatt ’20 furthers her academic success by studying abroad

Sydney Wyatt ’20 lived and studied in Berlin, Germany last semester through the College’s Global Engagement Office.

Wyatt, a sociology and anthropology and psychology double major, engaged in a new culture while studying at the Freie University of Berlin’s European Studies Program.

“This opportunity has given me an amazing learning experience, not only in the classroom but also in the real world,” Wyatt said. “Our class field trips typically resulted in my own exploration, in which I learned a lot about myself and the city.”

Wyatt is just one of many Lake Forest College students who study abroad. Other Foresters study in China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Northern Ireland, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, and United Arab Emirates.

“Although this opportunity has challenged me mentally and educationally, living in a different culture has provided me with experiences that solely an education could not. For that, I am truly grateful.”
