Reese King-Hill ’21 gets first-hand experience in Chinese culture

Reese King-Hill ’21 lived and studied in Beijing, China last semester through the College’s Global Engagement Office.

An international relations and Asian studies double major, King-Hill attended the China Studies Institute at Peking University in Beijing, China to further her studies beyond what she could experience back home.

“The best way for me to be able to fully comprehend this culture was to experience it first-hand,” King-Hill said. “ I was able to have a deeper understanding of what daily life was like for the local people.”

King-Hill is just one of many Lake Forest College students who studied abroad last semester. Other Foresters are studying in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Northern Ireland, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, and United Arab Emirates.

“The privilege I feel from the devoted teachers, incredible people, and invaluable lessons I’ve learned will stay with me the rest of my life.”
