Jon Call ’20 finds academic inspiration while studying abroad

Jon Call ’20 is living and studying in London, England this semester through the College’s Global Engagement Office.

An English and education double major, Call began studying at the University of Roehampton in London, England to fuel his passion for English literature.

“London is the perfect place for an English major,” Call said. “In such a massive city, every alley and building can possess a wonderful literary history.”

Call is just one of many Lake Forest College students studying abroad this semester. Other Foresters are studying in China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Northern Ireland, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, and United Arab Emirates.

“By coming to London, I have learned how necessary teaching literature is to others, and, hopefully, I can make my future students appreciate and grow passionate about their favorite works and authors.”
