Morgan Mendoza ’21 experiences new cultures by studying abroad
Morgan Mendoza ’21 traveled to Rome, Italy this semester through the College’s Global Engagement Office.
A psychology major and communication minor, Mendoza has been studying at the John Felice Rome Center in Rome, Italy in the fall semester, adapting to the local Italian culture.
“Life moves with less urgency than it does in the US,” Mendoza said. “While at first I found this frustrating, I have come to appreciate the differences between daily life in Italy and the US.”
Mendoza is just one of many Lake Forest College students studying abroad this semester. Other Foresters are studying in China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, and United Arab Emirates.
“Being able to study abroad and live in Rome, as well as being able to travel to other European countries, has expanded my knowledge of other cultures and allowed me to value the contrasts between the US and other places in the world.”
