Zoe Walts ’21 enhances her college career by studying abroad

Zoe Walts ’21 is living and studying in Northern England this semester through the College’s Global Engagement Office

A neuroscience major and French minor, Walts has been studying at the University of Chester outside Liverpool while experiencing a new culture and admiring its history.

“Even the shopping mall in the city center is built on the foundation of Roman ruins,” Walts said. “These are the kinds of things that I have come to Europe to see.”

Walts is just one of many Lake Forest College students studying abroad this semester. Other Foresters are studying in China, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Northern Ireland, Scotland, South Korea, Spain and United Arab Emirates.

“I’m infinitely grateful for those who have made this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity a reality,” Walts said. “Being in new situations is helping me to grow into a better person, and the experiences I’m having will turn into priceless memories.”
