Faith and Immigration Lecture

Dr. Daniel Carroll Rodas, Distinguished Professor of Old Testament at Denver Seminary, delivered the annual Latin American Studies lecture this year titled “Immigration and Christian Faith: Connecting Our Common Humanity with Christian Identity and Mission.” The Annual Latin American Studies Lecture series invites knowledgable speakers to campus to discuss popular and sometimes controversial subjects in today’s society. This event was co-sponsored by the Department of Latin American Studies and the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest.

    Nearly 300 students, faculty, and staff volunteered for the 2017 Forester Day of Service—the College’s annual service program and the signature event for Lead the Way, one of the Forester Five values. 
    This year, Forester Day of Service was the closing event of National Division III Week.

    The Forester Day of Service, held Saturday, April 8, continued the tradition of serving the community of North Chicago. Through a partnership with North Chicago Community Partners, Foresters traveled to four North Chicago Elementary Schools to facilitate a day of educational and enrichment activities.

    Students and faculty gathered to celebrate Eukaryon’s thirteenth annual inauguration on Wednesday, March 8. Eukaryon is an award-winning undergraduate research journal that publishes the very best of life science scholarship conducted at Lake Forest College.
