Men’s Hockey Alumni Day

Men’s Hockey Alumni Day took place on January 25. The day honored 31 hockey alumni who returned to the Forest, including members of 1978 National Runner-up team and many Lake Forest Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. Later, the men’s varsity squad was victorious over the visitors from Amherst College, 3-1, and the newest recipient of the Peter G. Taylor ’73 Award, Chris Gard ’14, was recognized.     On Saturday, February 18, the women’s basketball team celebrated Senior Day by honoring Brittany Avonts, Tara Gloystein, and Brie Majkowski prior to tip off. A brief ceremony was held before the varsity game against Lawrence University. Following the game, team members gathered in the film room of the Sports and Recreation Center for a reception.

A brief ceremony was held before the varsity game against Lawrence University. Following the game, team members gathered in the Dau Room at Halas Hall for a reception.

    Lake Forest College is proud to have been an active participant in National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The program was held on Sunday, February 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sports and Recreation Center. Participants included young girls aged 6-14 - turnout was great this year with over 90 participants. The College’s student-athletes led several stations including basketball, volleyball, tennis, soccer, softball, and cheerleading to name a few.

    The women’s basketball Alumni Day was held on Saturday, February 11 at the Sports and Recreation Center. Former athletes and families returned to campus for the annual alumni basketball game, social, and to cheer on the current team as they took on Cornell College.

    In addition to Alumni Day, Athletic Director Jackie Slaats was recognized during half time for her 30 years of service to the College and unwavering support of Lake Forest College Athletics.

    On Saturday, January 28 seniors Emily Bowens, Lauren Dalecky, Sean Flanigan, Sam Freedberg, Josh Georgeff, James Haney, Orion Huey, Travis Johnson, Ryan Keast, Chris Martinez, Virgil Thomas, and Lily Thorsen were honored during the first diving break of the meet.
