Dick Triptow, legendary athlete, coach, and dear friend to many Forester athletic alumni and coaches, was inducted in the Lake Forest College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000. During his time at the College, and in addition to coaching several other sports, Dick served as head coach of the Forester Golf program. During his tenure, coach Triptow positively impacted the lives of many Forester student-athletes, who are now alumni. In Dick’s honor, following a 40-year hiatus in program sponsorship, these alumni played a major role in bringing Forester Golf back to the College in 2014. On Sunday, October 16, 2016 Lake Forest College alumni, current team members, and golf supporters gathered at White Deer Run Golf Club in Vernon Hills to honor the traditions that Dick Triptow instilled and to support the current and future success of Forester Golf.
