Lake Forest College sits on 107 wooded acres, one-half mile from Lake Michigan, 30 miles north of Chicago.

Moore Hall, the newest residence hall on South Campus, opened its doors in August 2013. Other dorms on South include Nollen, Roberts, Gregory, and McClure.

The Environmental Studies Program treks senior seminar students down the Mississippi River each spring break to learn in the field about how we are connected to the great river and to the Gulf Coast of Louisiana into which the river drains. Professor Glenn Adelson takes his class on an educational adventure down to New Orleans with lots of pit stops on the way.
