Neuroscience Declaration Day
Neuroscience Declaration Day on October 7 was about getting to know the program, faculty, and alumni. Seven alumni returned to speak on a panel about how the major prepared them for their careers and/or graduate school: Kayla Ahlstrand ’12, Daniella Brutman ’12, Abbey Pipkorn ’10, Madhavi Senagolage ’12, Natalie Kukulka ’13, Silvia Skripkauskas ’04, and Sydni Cole ’12. Students had the option of declaring a major in neuroscience after learning about the incredible opportunities and diverse range of careers that employ this discipline.
The first measurable snowfall of the season blanketed campus over the weekend. The official accumulation for Chicago on Sunday, December 5 amounted to 6.4 inches, as recorded at Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
Alums, students, and parents networked during the second All Access Mixer of the fall semester on November 17. Lake Forest College Trustee Randy Lauer ’81 hosted the gathering at Citigroup in Chicago. Jessica Coleman ’89 was the guest speaker.
Students in Media Systems and Institutions visited the WBEZ radio station with Assistant Professor of Communication Camille Yale. WBEZ is Chicago’s news, talk, and information-oriented public radio station and only National Public Radio affiliate.
A large crowd of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends gathered at the ceremonial beam signing and unveiling of the science center’s new name: the Lillard Science Center.
Students, faculty, and staff joined athletics on the quad to kick off Forester Friday. Don’t forget to wear your red and black!
