If you are planning to apply to a program with a language-learning component (or take courses in a foreign language), consider applying for the Boren Scholarship. The awards can be huge – up to $10,000 per semester. They have a long list of preferred languages and locations. One caveat for this award: students must work for the federal government for one year after graduation. The campus deadline is January 25, 2018, to complete all parts of your application. A campus interview would take place the following week, with time for you to revise your application before the final submission deadline of February 8.
