Introductory information about auditing
- All community members are welcome to apply to audit an undergraduate course or topic they are interested in at Lake Forest College.
- Community members who have completed a bachelor’s degree are also welcome to apply to audit a currently offered seminar from the Master of Liberal Studies program.
- A sampling of courses available to audit are shared on the Auditing Undergraduate Courses page two times per year: Fall semester courses are shared in mid-August and Spring semester courses are shared in mid-December.
- Community members interested in auditing an undergraduate course may complete the Lake Forest College Non-Degree Audit Application form or contact Mike Alzamora at the email below.
- Tuition for auditing an undergraduate course is $730 per course.
Auditing a course at Lake Forest College
- Auditors are not subject to the requirements of the course (e.g. no assignments, no grades, no course credit) but are expected to participate seriously in class discussions.
- Examination for course credit is not permitted in an audited course.
Community members with bachelor’s degrees
- Community members that have completed a bachelor’s degree are eligible to audit both undergraduate and graduate courses with course instructor approval.
- Community members that have not completed a bachelor’s degree are only eligible to audit undergraduate courses with course instructor approval.
