Davis Schneiderman
Director, Center for Chicago Programs

As Associate Dean of the Faculty and Director of The Center for Chicago Program, Davis oversees Lake Forest College’s Chicago-related experiences. He directs the Lake Forest College In The Loop Program, at our Chicago residential campus. He has taught extensively on Chicago and the region, with a recent focus on World’s Fairs and leisure, greenspaces, city planning, and literature. He was the Director of the National Endowment for the Humanities-sponsored Virtual Burnham Initiative, a collaborative virtual modeling of the 1909 Plan of Chicago. As Director of Lake Forest College Press, Davis coordinates Chicago-based catalog titles such as Beyond Burnham: An Illustrated History of City Planning for the Chicago Region (Schwieterman and Mammoser) and the forthcoming Terminal Town (Schwieterman).

Davis’ favorite things in Chicago, today anyway, include browsing zines at Quimby’s, riding bicycles or Segways along the lakeshore, or searching out a double espresso, even in the summer heat.

Jennie Larsen
Assistant Director, Center for Chicago Programs

As Assistant Director, Jennie’s main responsibility is helping Lake Forest faculty facilitate class field trips to Chicago, as well as speakers brought to campus. She manages the Center’s Chicago Ambassador program, and is happy to answer any and all questions related to the College and Chicago, including, but not limited to, the Lake Forest College In The Loop program, how to get around using the city’s public transportation system, as well as where to find the best Chicago-style deep dish pizza.

Jennie’s favorite thing to do in Chicago is to visit Floriole, a Lincoln Park café specializing in French pastries, where she can catch up with friends, get lost in a book, or sketch jewelry designs.
