Working for the College since

September 2018

My life before Lake Forest

I previously worked in college admissions at another college in the Chicagoland area. My whole career since college has been in Higher Education.

One word or phrase to describe myself

Top three reasons I would choose to attend Lake Forest College

Community, Balance, and Access. Lake Forest College presents a fantastic environment for students to form lifelong relationships with each other, faculty, and staff across campus. It is truly a place where people look out for and take care of each other. Additionally, Lake Forest students really embrace the opportunities to explore their academic and personal interests with an eye toward both the future and the outside world. The fact that over 97% of our students both complete experiential learning opportunities and start postgraduate futures within 6 months of graduating is amazing. Lastly, our connection to Chicago is so unique compared to many other smaller colleges. Our students match their opportunities on campus with those of the nation’s third largest city a short drive/train ride away.

What character traits do I appreciate in an applicant?

I greatly appreciate when an applicant is not afraid to be genuine. Students that embrace their quirks/idiosyncrasies give a great insight to how they will contribute to a campus community.

What makes the College unique?

Lake Forest College values a traditional liberal arts education that is grounded in breadth of learning in addition to depth. At the same time, the College invests heavily in pre-professional support and guiding students in the process toward a career or post-graduate educational opportunity.

Tip for the college search

Trust your gut! There are lots of good choices for students as they go through the college search process, and the key is for students to be honest with themselves and prioritize finding a place where they can both be happy and thrive in their academic and professional ambitions.

Hint for success

At the risk of sounding cliché, be yourself! Admissions Counselors want to find students who will not only excel academically at their respective schools, but who also will feel at home during their four years on campus. Therefore, let all of your colors shine through your application.

Favorite activity in Chicago

I’m a huge fan of the lakefront trail! In addition to fun walks, I am a runner who loves to escape from time to time and there’s no better place to get in a few miles.

Favorite place in the town of Lake Forest

Caputo Cheese Market- hands down. Old-school italian deli counter with great coffee and amazing selection.

Fun fact to share

I have run at least one half-marathon each year since 2012, and ran my first full marathon in 2017.
