Karla Figueroa ’19 and Fatemeh Riahi ’19, a duo who met at student orientation were chosen to compete in the esteemed 2018 Values and Ventures business plan competition at Texas Christian University. Riahi and Figueroa were selected from applicants worldwide to pitch their idea—a collapsible barrel with a built-in filter to make contaminated water usable with hopes that their device, Nibipure, will provide a solution for disaster victims.
