Information for Advanced High School Students

Summer registration for high school students is now open.

You don’t have to be a Forester to enroll in Lake Forest College’s 2024 Summer Session. We offer college courses for advanced high school students in the Chicago area so you can challenge yourself and make the most of your summer. Be sure to take advantage of our Summer Merit Scholarships.

Are You Ready For College?

Lake Forest College’s 2024 Summer Session offers our top faculty instructors in courses that will engage and challenge you. We welcome advanced high school students to our summer classes, which provide a rigorous academic environment where they will learn alongside college students and gain a better understanding of college-level course expectations.

We’ve Got Your Scholarship

Summer Merit Scholarships of up to $2,300 are available for academically qualified advanced high school students. After registering, please complete this application if interested. Lake Forest College internships are not available to High School students

The Summer Merit Scholarship Committee consists of professors and members of the admissions staff. Awards are determined by evaluation of the short application essay, which has been constructed to gauge intellectual promise for college-level study.

Summer tuition before the award of a Summer Merit Scholarship is $3,300 per course. Summer Merit Scholarships are available in award amounts up to $2,300.

Summer Merit Scholarships are not available for high-school graduates.

Each Lake Forest College course is equivalent to 4.0 semester hours.

What You Want, When You Want It

Lake Forest College’s small class size means you are never a number, a cell in a spreadsheet, or lost in the back of a cavernous lecture hall. Most classes meet three hours a day, four days a week, either in the mornings or in the afternoons, leaving time to read and study, complete homework, and make the most of your summer.

No Prerequisites

Most of our Summer Session courses do not have pre-requisites. Courses are open to Lake Forest College students, high school students, and community members. Check out the calendar
