Room Types

Lake Forest College has a variety of room types within our residence halls, and you’re sure to find one that you can make your own cozy corner of campus. Below are descriptions of the room types available in each building. We encourage you to compare this list with our differential pricing table to get a complete picture of the room type that you’re selecting before you complete the housing application. Blackstone Hall
Blackstone Hall is a traditional, double-loaded corridor building. Students use community bathrooms located on each residential floor. 

Singles Singles in Blackstone house one student. 
Double Doubles in Blackstone house two first-year students. This is the most common room type in the building. 
Triple Triples in Blackstone house three first-year students. There is one triple in Blackstone. 
Quads Quads in Blackstone house four first-year students. 

Cleveland-Young International Center
Cleveland-Young International Center is a traditional, double-loaded corridor building. Students use community bathrooms located on each residential floor. 

Singles Single rooms in Cleveland-Young International Center house one upperclass student. 
Doubles Double rooms in Cleveland-Young house two upperclass students. 

Deerpath Hall
Deerpath Hall is a traditional, double-loaded corridor building. Students use community bathrooms located on each residential floor with the exceptions of rooms within suites, as described below. 

Singles Single rooms in Deerpath house one upperclass student. 
Double Double rooms in Deerpath house two upperclass students. 
Triple There is one triple in Deerpath, which houses three upperclass students.
Super Suite Singles A single within a suite houses one upperclass student in a shared suite of five (two double rooms and a single room) or six people (three double rooms). The suite includes a common area and bathroom. 
Super Suite Doubles A double within a suite houses two upperclass students in a shared suite of five (two double rooms and a single room) or six people (three double rooms) The suite includes a common area and bathroom. 

Gregory Hall
Gregory Hall is a non-traditionally designed building with balconies from which students access their rooms. Students have private bathrooms within their rooms, with the exception of single rooms as described below.

Singles Single rooms in Gregory house one upperclass student. Four students in single rooms share one common bathroom. 
Stairwell Singles Stairwell singles in Gregory house one upperclass student. Stairwell singles are located within stairwells in the building, meaning that there is one stairwell single room on each landing-level between floors. Beds in stairwell singles are lofted and required to stay in that position Students in stairwell singles have access to a shared restroom used by up to three students. 
Super Doubles Super double rooms in Gregory house two upperclass students in a room designed for four people.
Quads Quad rooms in Gregory house four upperclass students. 

Harlan Hall
Harlan Hall is a traditional, double-loaded corridor building. Students use community bathrooms located on each residential floor. 

Singles Singles in Harlan house one student. 
Doubles Doubles in Harlan house two first-year students. This is the most common room type in the building. 
Quads Quads in Harlan house four first-year students. 

Lois Hall
Lois Hall is a traditional, double-loaded corridor building. Students use community bathrooms located on each residential floor. 

Singles Singles in Lois house one student. 
Doubles Doubles in Lois house two first-year students. This is the most common room type in the building. 
Triples Triples in Lois house three first-year students. There is one triple in Lois, which has a bathroom within the room. 

McClure Hall
McClure Hall is a non-traditionally designed building with balconies from which students access their rooms. Students have private bathrooms within their rooms, with the exception of single rooms as described below.

Singles Single rooms in McClure house one upperclass student. Four students in single rooms share one common bathroom. 
Stairwell Singles Stairwell singles in McClure house one upperclass student. Stairwell singles are located within stairwells in the building, meaning that there is one stairwell single room on each landing-level between floors. Beds in stairwell singles are lofted and required to stay in that position. Students in stairwell singles have access to a shared restroom used by up to three students. 
Super Doubles Super double rooms in McClure house two upperclass students in a room designed for four people.
Quads Quad rooms in McClure house four upperclass students. 

Moore Hall
Moore Hall is a traditional, double-loaded corridor building. Students have private bathrooms within their rooms. 

Doubles Double rooms in Moore house two upperclass students and have a private bathroom within the room. 
Adjoined Doubles Adjoined doubles are two double rooms with two bathrooms behind a shared entry door. Students are assigned to a specific room within the adjoined double.
Suites Suites house four upperclass students in two double rooms with two bathrooms and a common area behind a shared entry door.

Nollen Hall
Nollen Hall is a traditional, double-loaded corridor buildings. Students use semi-private bathrooms which are accessible via their rooms with the exception of triple rooms described below.

Singles Singles in Nollen house one student. 
Doubles Doubles in Nollen house two first-year students. This is the most common room type in the building. 
Triples Triples in Nollen house three first-year students. Each triple room has a private bathroom. 

Roberts Hall
Roberts Hall is a non-traditionally designed building with balconies from which students access their rooms. Students have private bathrooms within their rooms, with the exception of single rooms as described below.

Singles Single rooms in Roberts house one upperclass student. Four students in single rooms share one common bathroom. 
Stairwell Singles Stairwell singles in Roberts house one upperclass student. Stairwell singles are located within stairwells in the building, meaning that there is one stairwell single room on each landing-level between floors.
