Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Program
The life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is celebrated and honored annually at Lake Forest College.
The Office of Intercultural Relations, in collaboration with the Mohr Student Center Committee, presents the Martin Luther King, Jr. History Exhibit in the Mohr Student Center foyer. Participants can view transcripts of Dr. King’s speeches that helped fuel his activism, hear original recordings of his speeches, and learn pertinent biographical information about Dr. King’s life and enduring legacy.
Additionally, the Lake Forest College community will celebrate Dr. King’s commitment to equity and social justice during our annual commemoration on January 16, 2012 beginning at 4:30 PM in the Lily Reid Memorial Chapel.
The exhibit and program are both open to the public and free of charge. This year’s speaker will be author, filmmaker, and professor M.K. Asante. See the campus calendar for more information.
