Activities & Clubs
Involvement in campus life is paramount to building life skills outside the classroom, which prepares students for success at Lake Forest College and beyond. Campus involvement also reinforces academic teaching and provides opportunities to gain essential personal and professional experiences. Beyond this, being involved on campus is just plain fun.
Here are some areas and ways to get involved:
Student organizations
Foresters can select from approximately 50 student organizations featured on campus each year, covering subjects as varied as club sports and intramural teams to service, academic, and political interest groups / honor societies. Further, Lake Forest College hosts an active Greek-letter organization, featuring seven nationally-recognized fraternal organizations.
Student Government
Student Government is the representative voice of the student body. Student Senate serves as the link between the students and the administration of the College and is a vital aspect of student life at Lake Forest College. Student Senators are elected from residential and commuter populations as well as from each class, first-year through senior year.
Campus speakers, programs, performances, and matches
Lake Forest College offers a wide variety of cultural performances and entertainment opportunities, and Foresters can take advantage of myriad academic presentations, Forester Athletics matches, Music Department and Garrick Theater performances, and student organization programs, including campus-wide events, like “Global Fest” each fall and the “Gates Day of Service,” “Iron Chef, Lake Forest College,” and “Relay for Life” each spring.
Club sports and intramural teams
Intramural activities provide a less competitive and informal environment where persons of all ability levels can compete together. Intramurals help transform spectators into active participants, and with over twenty different sport activities, everyone has an opportunity to participate.
