The Brown Technology Resource Center (TRC) provides software support and training for faculty, staff, and students.

Do you need assistance using software and incorporating technology into your academic assignments? Do you want to print a poster? Are you looking for color or black and white laser-jet print outs? Then please let us help you at the TRC! All of our hours are on a walk-in basis and our services are free to the College community. We only charge minimal fees for consumables like paper and DVDs.

The TRC staff is composed of highly trained student technicians. While the technicians share a common knowledge base, each employee has his or her own area of expertise. When you visit the TRC we will do our best to help you or pair you up with the technician who can best assist you. You are also welcome to serve yourself in the TRC and just use our equipment on your own.

The TRC lab is composed of ten patron workstations and two technician workstations. All of the computers are Macintosh, however can be booted up into either a Macintosh operating system or a Microsoft Windows environment. Students and faculty may come to the TRC to print, scan, copy DVDs, download and edit video, or use some of our many software products.

The TRC lends net book computers as a convenience for students to use anywhere within the Library. We also loan basic camcorders and digital cameras. All of our loaners are on a first-come, first-serve basis. We ask that you leave your student ID for the duration of the loan. If you fail to return the equipment, we will charge your College account for the full amount to replace the item.
