Faculty Network Storage

From off campus, you need to have the Cisco AnyConnect client installed on your computer and establish the VPN connection. Use this link to start the VPN process.  It might be necessary to download the Cisco VPN client manually if prompted.  Once installed you can always launch the VPN from the Cisco AnyConnect Client.

Windows Instructions

Windows 7

U: - \\elite.lakeforest.edu\facstaffhome$\yourusername

  1. Click start, Right-click on “Computer” and select “Map network drive”
  2. Select an available drive (such as “Z”)
  3. For the folder or address, type in \\elite.lakeforest.edu\facstaffhome$\yourusername
  4. Click on the link that says “different user name”
    or click “Connect using different credentials” and click Finish
  5. For “User name” enter lakeforest\yourusername
  6. Enter your password and click OK
  7. Click Finish

V: - \\elite.lakeforest.edu\facstaff$

  1. Click start, Right-click on “Computer” and select “Map network drive”

  1. Go to the Dock and click on Finder.
  2. Click Go and select Connect to Server.
  3. For Server Address, type the following:
    smb://elite.lakeforest.edu/facstaffhome$/yourusername
    and then click Connect to Server.
  4. For Username enter lakeforest\yourusername
  5. Enter your password and click Connect.

V: - smb://elite.lakeforest.edu/facstaff$

  1. Go to the Dock and click on Finder.
  2. Click Go and select Connect to Server.
  3. For Server Address, type the following:
    smb://elite.lakeforest.edu/facstaff$/
    and then click Connect to Server.
  4. For Username enter lakeforest\yourusername
  5. Enter your password and click Connect.
