The College continues its commitment to enrolling a national and international student body that will provide cross-cultural learning opportunities broadening all students’ experiences.  Of the 172 males and 236 females in the first-year class 38 percent are either international or ethnic minority students and nearly 48 languages are spoken. Academically, the incoming class is a strong one with an average grade point average of 3.6 with 58 percent graduating in the top 20 percent of their high school class.

We are very proud of the students we have enrolled in the Class of 2015 as well as nearly 70 transfer students.  They continue a long trend of academic strength and diversity that characterizes the Lake Forest College student body,” says Director of Admissions for Enrollment David Bennett ’94. “Students continue to state that the College’s clear academic strengths, intimate setting, and proximity to Chicago, are fundamental in their decision to apply and attend.” 

Geographically, the incoming class comes from around the country and around the world. Forty eight percent of the class is from outside Illinois and students hail from 41 countries including Angola, Bosnia Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Cambodia, China, Chile, Cameroon, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, Mauritius, Mexico, Nigeria, Nepal, Paraguay, Pakistan, Palestinian Territory, Peru, Serbia, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Swaziland, and Zambia.

Their extracurricular activities and interests are as diverse as their hometowns and they will contribute richly to the campus community. 

Orientation culminated with the official Matriculation Ceremony on Tuesday, August 24.
