How did you choose your area of study?
Although I changed my neuroscience major into a minor, I full heartedly believe the classes I have taken give me a greater understanding of psychology. The fact that neuroscience takes an interdisciplinary approach motivated me to continue the curriculum and broaden my mindset in this constantly changing subject. I have always been fascinated at understanding mental disorders at a neurological level, and I hope to continue this fascination into my future career as a therapist. For me, to completely understand disorders and how to best work with them, it’s important to consider the brain and how it functions in its own unique way for different people. After taking a multitude of neuroscience courses, I feel confident in my ability to question and challenge different perspectives and be open minded to all of them.
