How did you choose your area of study?
I first was drawn to Lake Forest College because I intended early on to pursue a career in research, and I expected this school to help prepare me. The neuroscience program, from my first year studies course onwards, has helped me more than I ever could have expected. Not only have I learned many skills and concepts necessary for working in a lab, but I have been practicing other skills, like how to properly present results and interact with individuals both in and outside of my own field. The knowledge I’ve gained from Lake Forest College professors, and in the research opportunities the school has offered me, will be invaluable in any sort of research career path I go down in the future.
