How did you choose your area of study?
Learning about all aspects of the brain sparked an interest for me at an early age. Growing up with an autistic brother always made me curious as to how different his brain was wired compared to ours. I wanted to study a field that gave me knowledge of how the brain functions. Coming into the neuroscience program in Lake Forest College was truly a challenge at times but I acquired such a disciplined education by learning how complex and malleable our minds are and learning about all the diseases associated with the brain made my passion for neuroscience develop even more. Learning about the psychology aspect of neuroscience was fascinating as this connected the biology aspects of our brain translating them to behaviors that we all display. After college, I plan on medical school and specialize in neurology
