How did you choose your area of study?
The human brain can create intelligent and unique thoughts based purely on genes and experience in record time with unparalleled efficiency. The fact that no person has been able to accurately model such a relationship is what drew me to neuroscience. Neuroscience gave me a look under the hood of the most powerful central processing unit known to mankind. The interdisciplinary nature of neuroscience also makes it relevant in every field and, while being a rigorous major to pursue, equipped me with the tools to approach problems from fresh perspectives. Building this skill set has allowed me to tackle questions in diverse contexts by relating them back to the solid background and critical analytics the neuroscience major had encouraged. Following graduation, I hope to attend medical school to continue to generate innovative ideas in multiple disciplines of science.
