Internships available at Great Lakes Naval Museum
History students interested in museum work have two new internship opportunities at the Great Lakes Naval Museum this summer. Ideal candidates should have a background in American History, but prior knowledge of Naval History is not required.
One internship will be in the Collections/Archives area, and responsibilities will include assisting in research, interpretive writing, exhibit assistance, and other projects in the artifact and photographic museum collections. Excellent writing and research skills, an independent work ethic, and a background in American studies or history are necessary.
The second opportunity is in the area of Education, and the intern will work independently and with museum staff to conceive, develop and implement education programs for students, senior citizens, and the general public. Strong research skills and a background in education or history are required. More information can be found at history.navy.mil/museums/greatlakes/intern.htm.
