Michael H. Ebner serves as scholar-in-residence in Florida

The James D. Vail III Professor of American History Emeritus is again serving in the position for the School District of Lee County, Florida. Michael’s stay is sponsored by the Teaching American History program of the U.S. Department of Education. His focus this year is “The Long Civil Rights Movement, 1863 to 2014.” The assigned reading for the teachers enrolled in the program is Isabel Wilkerson’s The Warmth of Other Suns, The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration (Random House, 2010).
